Detox and binders
How do I do a heavy metal detox safely / what protocol works?
This corpus does not contain a trial of a general at-home detox protocol, so that claim is not graded. The interventions that do have human studies are graded separately, and those grades are for a stated outcome, not for a promise to clear stored metal. Folic acid has the strongest trial evidence here, and it changes arsenic methylation. It is not a general chelator.
Where the human studies are
Grades below are the grades on each intervention page. They are not repeated as extra badges on this page. Study conditions are not dose instructions.
| Page | Graded outcome | Grade |
|---|---|---|
| Folic acid | Arsenic methylation | A |
| DMSA, blood lead | Lowering blood lead in children | B |
| Zeolite | Blocking uptake of co-ingested lead | B |
| Selenium | Urinary excretion of mercury or arsenic | B |
| DMSA, cognition | Cognitive benefit at blood lead 20 to 44 µg/dL | F |
| EDTA | Cardiovascular events; hypocalcemia harm | D and F |
| Provoked urine | Diagnosing poisoning | F |
Schedules named in public questions
The question set names a low-dose frequent chelator schedule and a smoothie. Neither has a trial in this corpus. Those pages say what was and was not found.

What's safe to buy
The Heavy Metal Tested and Certified public register listed no licensees on 15 October 2026. That page reported 0 certified brands and 0 certified products, and it stated that no brand has completed the three-lot baseline. A specimen layout on the register is an illustration, not a licensee. This page does not name or rank any brand.
The program states that certification is a measurement of a product against a published limit, not a statement that the product is safe. If a licensee is later listed for this category, it will be on the register.
